University of New Brunswick
The University of New Brunswick (UNB) is Canada’s oldest English-language university, and New Brunswick’s only national comprehensive university. Founded in 1785, the multi-campus institution has a rich history as well as a dynamic focus on innovation, experiential learning and entrepreneurship. UNB has more than 9,500 students from nearly 75 countries while several thousand more take UNB courses online and at partner institutions around the world.
The University of New Brunswick is the right-sized university. We’re large enough to offer a wide range of programs and services, but small enough to offer students the support they need to discover and realize their potential.
With campuses in Fredericton and Saint John, UNB offers more than 75 programs with a variety of courses to choose from. UNB is responsible for more than 70 per cent of all publicly funded research in New Brunswick and is a leader of innovation. As Canada’s oldest English-speaking university, it is home to many firsts: the first engineering and forestry programs, the first computer science faculty and the first accelerated degree in interdisciplinary leadership. As the world changes, UNB is responding to shifts in our society, providing courses through alternative delivery methods to ensure our community remains safe while receiving an excellent education.
